CAMPUS ROCK: pop-rock music seminars in Catalonia

Touring Musical School

Campus Rock is a traveling music school, specialized in pop rock. It does not have a specific location, and develops its task in collaboration  in cooperation with public and private cultural centers. The training is based on new technologies, new artistic trends and creation, being a meeting point between young musicians from different backgrounds.

Camps & musical activities

The Campus Rock consists of seminars and summer camps for immersion in music throughout intense days from morning till night. It also provides a place to exchange ideas and for coexistence between musicians from different backgrounds.

In the Campus Rock, the main activity is to practice a musical instrument in a pop-rock band. There are no classes in music theory. The only theoretical sessions are about creativity where students compose songs that are bound to be interpreted with the help of other students. Teachers become tutors in order to help students in the way of learning.

At least two years of practice

Participants must know how to play an instrument prior to their stay on campus. Thus, the Campus Rock is not a place where you get started in learning an instrument, but rather a place where you can learn to apply the acquired knowledge and add new ones out of the coexistence with teachers and other students. It is recommended to have at least two years of practice and certain music knowledge so you can follow and participate in bands and events.

Right from the beginning, Campus Rock provides a non-competitive but challenging environment where young musicians of all ability levels can learn and perform. Campers will play in stage bands and attend daily classes that include band rehearsals, sectional rehearsals and master classes.

Have a first session/workshop guides for modern composition and guidelines for the composition of lyrics. Between 2 and 3 songs were released for the first time at the closure concert on each Campus. From all the campuses’ compositions of the year, a maximum of four will be chosen. These will be recorded later in studio.

During the recording you create an interactivity between the young-composer and producers, musicians and technicians, and therefore, the future composer learns from this process.
